Trip Overview

Annapurna Circuit is one of the most popular treks of the world. This trek starts from lowlands through terraced rice fields, pine forest to high mountain areas near the Muktinath Temple. The trek starts at Jagat and follows the Marsyangdi River through Gurung settlements to the Tibetan region of Manang. It then enters a Buddhist region which includes Buddhist monasteries, colorful prayer flags, and numerous mani walls along the trails. The high point of this trek is crossing the Thorung La pass at (5,416m/17,769 ft) followed by the trek down to Muktinath and the Kali Gandaki gorge located between the Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt.Annapurna. After the pass, you will reach Tatopani (hot spring) where you will have the opportunity to take a natural hot bath. The trek continues with a long hike up to Shikha where you'll stay overnight and explore the Magar village Khibang. The next day the trek continues to Ghorepai for the popular sunrise view from (Poon Hill ) which is one of the well known viewpoints on Lamjung, Himalchuli, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machapuchare treks.
